Our dog may need a new home...

We may have to look for a new home for one of our dogs. He seems to be getting a little bit aggressive with our older dog and would thrive in a one-dog household. He is not people aggressive at all. He loves people and always wants to be around us. He doesn't really like other animals though.
It's very upsetting to us becuase we have grown attached to him, but we want to do what is best for everyone.
I really am not sure what to do. Would LOVE if we could find a family to adopt him. Would never give him to the pound or anything like that. DO not want anything bad to happen to him...just don't want the situation to get worse.

Any advice.

FM if you would rather. TIA.

Re: Our dog may need a new home...

Can you give any specifics about the dog such as the breed, size, age? Posting pictures help too!

We already have a dog so we wouldn't be a good fit for your pooch, but with more info, I'd be happy to help pass on the info.

Good Luck!

Defintely post the specifics so we can help you. Please include info on temperment. Also, make sure you dog's health and vaccinations are in order (spay/neuter, rabies, etc). You can advertise on petfinder.com and craiglist - please charge a fee. I'll bump a post explaining why....

Re: Our dog may need a new home...

We are in touch with a trainer, so hopefully that goes well. Everytime we talk about giving him to a new family I get so upset. He never had any formal training before, but he is a good dog.

I just don't know if he will ever stop being aggressive toward other dogs, so we'll see what the trainer says.

Thanks for any advice.

So glad to hear that you are trying a trainer. We used Bark Busters and liked them very much. Good luck and please keep us posted.Chat Icon
