Chat Icon Chat Icon Thanks! I actually don't like research and want to get some kind of education and outreach job in science when I finish. BUT if I was really brave, I'd love to own a bakery. Chat Icon

very nice... you're quite generous... I probably would only bake if their sabbatical was ending for good Chat Icon

you were the one who did a theme cake for a lab party right? I can't remember your animal model... what bird was that again Chat Icon

just wanted to tell you... we just celebrated 'fishmas' a few weeks ago (complete with fishmas tree and fish decorations)

it's all an homage to our 8 year old goldfish Blurp (I'm a proud mommy... he's 9" long!) here's a pic of our favorite labmate (with his annual 'fishmas' card to the lab on top of his tank)

Doesn't that goldfish need a bigger tank? How often do you change the water? That is a 20 gallon, no? Maybe I am seeing it smaller than what it really is?

trust me, he's happy in there. /i've had him for almost a decade... he's never been sick and has a healthy appetite. goldfish grow as large as the tank allows and then they stop growing. I wouldn't want to swap tanks. the only time he got stressed out was 2 years ago when our lab moved to the other side of the building. he didn't eat for 2 days Chat Icon I loathe the idea that he'll ever have to move again.

(he gets a 30% water change, and his tank/filter cleaned 2x a week)

I love that fish as much as a dog owner loves a dog... I've braved storms for him and even visit him on major holidays like christmas.... he shakes his fins when he sees me come towards the tank... Chat Icon I hope he lives forever Chat Icon
