Out of breath at 9 weeks?

Hi.

This is my 2nd pregnancy.
I did not experience this in my first and I am extremely nervous although it seems to be normal.

I am constantly out of breath after walking my class to and from specials. I also notice heart palpitations when I lay down after work/at night.

Anyone else experience all of this?

Please make me feel better!

Re: Out of breath at 9 weeks?

i haven't had the heart palpitations, but since like 8 weeks I noticed myself getting really out of breath. Every time I walk up a small flight of stairs I am huffing and puffing like I just did a sprint!

Yup! Totally normal! I almost went to the ER New Years day b/c it was so bad. I got out of breath walking to and from the bathroom! It felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest.

Turns out, your hormones surge big time this week AND the blood flow doubles.

I hope you feel better soon! Chat Icon

I'll be 14 weeks tomorrow and I was having crazy palpitations today for more than 2 hours. I had mentioned to my midwife about 6 weeks ago and she said it's normal.

I'm 11 weeks with 2, and also a teacher. Today I was pushing the paino down the hall with a student and was totally winded. I'm in really good shape and this freakede out. The nurse ( also mother of 5) convinced me it was ok

During my first trimester, just TALKING would get me out of breath. I'm a teacher, and during Finals Week when I had to read aloud passages to my students, I was literally panting by the end.

Around 9 weeks I had the same thing happen to me. I was having heart palpitations and trouble getting a full breath. I was so nervous, my OB made me go see a cardiologist and they advised me it was caused by extra blood flow. Now I'm almost 15 weeks and I don't have it anymore. Feel better.

I'm also a teacher....same thing. I'm pregnant with Chat Icon Chat Icon and had to stop work at 22 weeks because it was so unbearable. My OB requested that I see a cardiologist as a precaution...everything was fine. My two LOs were sucking up all my energy...and stealing all my blood flow!! Chat Icon
