out of curiosity...
I was wondering how many of you ladies get super involved with your in-laws.. meaning, when you and DH have to make plans, do you call and set them up, or does your DH?
I was just wondering how you all handled making plans to get together with your in-laws..

Dh always makes the calls. I make suggestions (last weekend we were going out to dinner and I said we should invite his grandparents visiting from FL), but never make the calls.

Nope he does. When they call they also ask to speak with him if they are inviting us over.

same here.
i have to beg DH to call anyone. If his mom didn't call him, i don't think he'd ever talk to them. i even make the plans to visiit his brothers.

I usually make the plans. We usually eat at my MIL's once a week and she will usually call me directly to set up when.

I tease DH that he married me just so he can have a personal planner...
I handle things of that nature 95% of the time. The other 5% I make him do it.

they have learned to come to me, anytime plans are made and I'm not involved somehow FH forgets, messes up the time/date/place, etc. It's just easier to go through me, finally after a year his parents get it, plans are a no-go if they are made through him.

I will call my in-laws without hesitation and do about 50% of the time. I have no problem as I do adore them!!!!

If anyone wants to see FH or invite him or us to anything, they have to to go through me, not because he needs my permission but because left to his own devices, he'll jsut say "yeah" and not plan anything...as our best man said "I know you're the couple social director"

I talk to FSIL more than FH does. I usually tell him when we are getting together with his family, lol.
They are a pretty close family, so were always doing BBQs and stuff.

his family moved to TX when we first started dating, so I am not extremely close to them. Unfortunately, I used to make more of an effort than they did, but I recently put the kabash on that since now I feel taken advantage of.

If it's his brother & sis in-law, I'll call them. His parents, he'll talk to although we only see them for special occassions since they won't travel to us, we always have to go to them...
