out of thse towns who has the lowest taxes?East Rockaway, Lynbrook etc

East rock, Lynbrook, Malverne, oceanside? Not looking yet but not to far in the future i hope. Dh wants to send the kids to catholic school ( st raymonds in particular) what areas would be less taxes since we would be using catholic school anyway? TIA

I'd venture to say that Oceanside has the lowest taxes of all those.

Malverne has an extra Village Tax in addition to the regular property tax ....

If you do a search on MLSLI.com it shows the tax information, and breaks down the taxes in Malverne so you can see how much is regular property taxes and how much is the village tax.

I have no idea.... Lynbrook might be the lowest because of all the commercial stores they have, but then again, it could be more expensive hourse wise.

I lived in ER and my parents still live there. I went to St. Raymonds from Kindergarten through 8th grade.

ETA: to go to St. Ray's you can be in ER, some parts of Lynbrook (south of Atlantic) and Oceanside (because there is no Catholic grammar school there. They are buses over).

I am in East Rockaway and our lot is 60X175 and we pay 7k, and that is without star. One level ranch. It all depends though, because my cousin is in ER and she pays 10k because her colonial has 3 bathrooms...

I know Lynbrook is a bot higher because of the school district.

I think out of them all ER is the lowest. Lynbrook and Malverne pay an extra village tax. We pay almost $10,000 and our property is only 40x135. And our friends parents also in Malverne pay $14,000. Lynbrook is about the same.

The reason I said Oceanside is because the other three are incorporated villages and I assume everyone would have to pay a separate village tax.

I also live in Oceanside and my taxes are low, so I guess it really depends on the house and location within the town.

I would say East Rockaway. Lynbrook I think is higher b/c the schools are good (although I'm not positive about Lynbrook). My Aunt lives in Malverne and pays almost $12,000, I live in Oceanside and taxes are almost $8200 without star, for a cape which we thought was a lot.

Based on what I saw when we were house hunting over two years ago, East Rockaway taxes were more reasonable (unless it was East Rockaway with Lynbrook schools, then it seemed higher. We're in Lynbrook with Lynbrook schools and our taxes are under 8K with star for a 50 by 100 plot.
