Outdoor dining....
So we can eat under a tent with some walls up in hot stagnant air but can’t eat inside the actual building? My friend who waitresses is so miserable and brought up this good point. Doesn’t make sense.

It makes about as much sense as thousands of protesters marching through Manhattan being ok, but not five people browsing in a small neighborhood store.
However, whatever they are telling us to do is working. NY's COVID numbers are among the lowest in the country right now. So, while I agree it is silly, I will accept it.

Oh yeah they need a tent or umbrellas!
I saw one that did up the parking lot with tables but they had a big tent over it all...like the ones you rent for parties.
You need shade!

Or maybe it has to do more with natural herd immunity. Looking back not everyone was really following the guidelines. Many ppl weren’t using masks, quarantining like they suggested, or even keeping the 6 feet distance rule. According to them, most of us were supposed to get it at one point or another without even knowing it, so maybe natural herd immunity is what’s making our numbers be super low now.

The lack of social distancing at protests is NOT okay, but there is no way to prevent it without calling in the National Guard. Clearly, Cuomo has no desire to ratchet up the tension by doing that.
One thing that you can see in the New York protests vs other locations - New Yorkers are wearing masks.
