Re: Outdoor Wireless Speakers....
I don't have any yet but I have been looking into them. Bed Bath and Beyond has a sharper image set that is 99 dollars. I am not sure of the sound quality but what throws me off is the tremendous amount of batteries required to power them "Each speaker measures 8 1/2" H x 5 1/4" W x 6 1/2" D. Uses 12 type C batteries and 2 AAA batteries which are not included." If you are using an ipod why not just get a portable ipod dock? The wireless speakers systems run at 900 mhz which can be a bit of a problem with respect to interference. I looked and it seemed like only one set of outdoor wireless speakers have a rechargable internal battery and they don't appear to make them anymore. Sorry for my babble. Hope this Helps.

Thank you for the info! We have the portable IPOD dock now that we bring outside but we wanted to have something in the garden (like the rock speakers) this way we could have more sound. Does that make sense?
That is a lot of batteries though on those speakers.

Re: Outdoor Wireless Speakers....
We have our entire yard wired and have speakers outside (we have Bose as well).
I believe that Acoustic Research and Advent sell the best outdoor wireless ones.

I am still trying to figure out how I would like to proceed in my yard. I am currently thinking about just digging the trenches and doing the speakers hardwired. I would then have to get a speaker switcher for one of my surround sounds in the house. I was also throwing around just getting some waterproof thing for outside and running the wires to an amplifier in there. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Re: Outdoor Wireless Speakers....
I thought about wireless, but I am glad I just ran wires to the back of my house and tied it in to my home theatre stereo.
The outdoor speakers I am buying this month (Niles or Polk) will sound 10x better than anything wireless and will probably cost less as well.

Re: Outdoor Wireless Speakers....
I just talked to my dad who installs this stuff for a living. He says that he doesn't know of any good wireless speakers and that you are better off just running those wires into the house.
Do you have a stereo or a receiver inside that the ipod dock hooks up to?
How are you going to play the IPOD through the speakers?

Thank Tricia...I am going to suggest to DH running the wires up to the retaining wall...
Currently we do have a stereo that will allow us to hook the IPOD into it...Then we play it through those speakers...For the time being I will use my IPOD docking station

Re: Outdoor Wireless Speakers....
If you need any advice let me know. My dad is more than willing to chat with your Dh and help you out. He sells all of that sort of stuff and knows a lot about them. He wired the outside of his house and I "think" he just mentioned doing an entire outside home theatre system for someone... How cool would that be!!
But let me know if you want to chat with him. They live right in Seaford and he is always willing to chat about that nonsese with people.
