I've eaten them. I know it's probably a no-no but I'm 33 years old and have yet to get salmonella from and egg and I have eaten a lot of cake batter, cookie dough and over easy eggs.

i have avoided them (and i looooove them) but honestly, if you want it, get it! just make sure it's at a reputable place.

Re: Over-Easy Eggs

Can you make them at home? The supermarket near us sells pasteurized eggs. If you use those, I'm sure you're fine!

Re: Over-Easy Eggs

I consider myself to be super cautious (heat cold cuts, avoid caffeine and many other 'in moderation' foods completely...) yet I eat an occassional over-easy egg......

The egg interior is sterile (yolk/white)... until you crack it open. Salmonella contamination is on the shell only. If you're really concerned flash boil your eggs for 30s-1 min prior to cracking them open. That will kill the bacteria on the shell, so you're garanteed no bacteria on the shell.....
