ovulating? or appendix?

I need some advice... For the past 3 days I have been having pain on my side.. its more like on the left middle side... right underneath my rib... AT first I wrote the pain off to ovulating (my period is due on friday/saturday) but this is day 3 of the pain, and it reaLLY HASNT GOTTEN BETTer...it is more like a dull ache and hurts the most when i walk, now im not sure if its O pain cause its not low on my side.. i really am starting to get worried... if this was an appendix issue would i be hurting on the left side? could it be gall stones? i have no back pain..

any advice appreciated ty

From watching my brother as well as my husband have appendictis they wouldn't have been able to handle it for three days and they both started throwing up.
You should really go see a doctor though since I don't think any of us should really be giving medical advice.
Have you tried Mylanta? Does it make it better or worse?

Usually your appendix is on your right side.

I was in pain with mine, a dull ache, and I got to the hospital just in time - it was about ready to burst.

I do know that after I had something to eat the pain got worse.

You could call your doctor to see what's going on. If the area is tender, he'll probably do some blood work to check your white blood cell count. If it's sky high (like mine was) he'll do further tests to rule out your appendix.

thanks girls... i am looking up stuff online...and somehow this can be common..i see that it says it can be gas pains, or spleen problems, i have ibs and feel bloated cause of AF so im hoping its just gas issues but im calling my dr. in a bit..ty for the advice

Appendix would be on your right...and if your period is due this friday/saturday you probably would have ovulated already so hmmm. I had a pain like that once and it was my spleen...I had mono. It hurt more when I inhaled. But it sounds like it's in that area... I believe your gall bladder is around there too...since you have IBS...it's possible.

Bottom line, I would go to the Dr and get it checked out definitely. Hope you feel better soon!

Appendicitis would be pain on your right lower side-below your belly button and you wouldn't be able to tolerate the pain for 3 days. Gall bladder pain is generally your right upper side radiating to your back/shoulder and can be associated with nausea and vomiting.
Sounds like gas or ovulation, feel better!

good luck at the Dr, but I just wanted to add that you could've pulled/strained a muscle. That would be painful for about 5 days or so.

i think your appendix is on your right side. but i would go to the doctor and get it checked out anyway just to make sure hope you get better and that it's just ovulation
