Ovulation "pains" - ?
Ok, so i know i am ovulating very shortly if not already ( a positive OPK)
My question is i am getting discomfort in my left "side" assuming it is ovulation discomfort... do you normally get this before and up to ovulation or at ovulation and a couple days after?
Trying to find out if i have O'd or will i know i have O'd when the discomfort goes away
discomfort is minimal, like little twinges. (sp)
thanks..

I've been hoping to feel these "twinges" or pains but so far nothing...I think it happens as the egg is being released.

Re: Ovulation "pains" - ?
I get pretty strong O pains for a day and 1/2 to 2 days straight (mittelschmerz). I don't use opk's or anything, but I know it can accur either before, during or after ovulation.

Re: Ovulation "pains" - ?
it's difficult to say how your pains correlate to the time of your ovulation - i think it varies from person to person. i used to think that my ovulation pains meant i was ovulating that day, but turns out the pains always preceded ovulation by at least 2 days. i would use OPKs or temping to get a sense of when you're really ovulating.

Re: Ovulation "pains" - ?
I used an OPK and bd'd as soon as I got my positive reading and the day after. The OPKs are usually supposed to predict ovulation 12-36 hours before it happens. I also had O pains throughout almost every cycle, but they can appear before, during or after ovulation so they aren't as reliable as the OPK. The OPK worked for us and I got pg that cycle.

Everyone is different in respect to O pains. Personally, I get them just before and during O. With some charting and a couple cycles you figure out the patterns.

Re: Ovulation "pains" - ?
I usually get them every month. Last night I was having little twinges in my left side. I figured I was O'd, but when I took a Ovulation test, it was negative. So, now I am totally confused as well.
