Oy, I have a political question. I always said I would never get involved in heated political discussions...
I had an e-mail forwarded to me re: Obama. It had select quotes from his books and, to be honest, I was not sure if this was a true quote (I could not find it on snopes.com) and I never read the book. I was hoping that someone would shed some light on this. This isn't a supporter vs non-supporter question. Nor, do I want to start drama. Although I am tempted to not vote at all because I really do not like either canidate at all at this point. However, I do realize that e-mail/internet rumors get circulated quite frequently. I would rather take the educated stance at the very least.
So, with further ado...here is the quote:
From Audacity of Hope: 'I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.'
I wasn't sure if this was even really said, or what the context was. Could someone shed some light who has read the book and isn't biased.
Thanks..
Please no drama

I think i remember someone actually posting the whole text that it was taken out of on here. If you do a search, you might be able to find it.
I delete all of the political emails that i get- even if its for someone i support. Its like a bad game of telephone, and i dont want to base my vote on a long line of interpretations.

and btw, I agree 100% with this. I always double check political/inflammatory/etc. emails and 99% of the time the info turns out to be inaccurate

Thank you! I read it and am actually sending a link of this to the individual who sent me the e-mail (the exact e-mail referenced on this snopes page)
Sorry I could not find it myself. It was my first time on snopes.com
Thanks for posting the link
I feel that even if you don't like either canidate, you should be educated on both to the fullest extent.

Your welcome. And ITA.
It drives me nuts when people send these emails out blindly, especially when the subject is something like "You have to read this" as if it's the TRUTH...argghhhh
