I am a registered democrat, but pretty middle of the road politically, and I have voted for republicans.

I voted for Michael Balboni (a local representative when I was in Nassau) and I voted independently for Nader in 2000.

I'm a registered Democrat, but I think I more closely identify with Republican ideals, except for the big ticket item: choice.

Same here.
Honestly, a lot of my views have changed since I first registered.

Re: OK, political question

I'm a registered Dem - so I can vote in primaries - and I vote for Dem's under Independant parties (b/c I'd like to see more than just the Dem/Rep candidates up there).

A Rep would have to really wow me for me to vote for her or him. Really, really wow me.

Yes, I have crossed party lines.

To be honest there are some "Democrats" that are more typically "republican" in their beliefs and vice-versa. you really must consider the individual candidate and the issues.

Re: OK, political question

I registered when I was in high school and didn't really have any political views yet.

But Yes, I have voted for a different political party than I'm registered. I voted for the candidate and where they stood on certain issues. If I dont know the candidates views, then I might vote for the party.

Re: OK, political question

I am not registered with either party, so I just vote for who I think is the best candidate, and I do consider the party distribution of senators and congresspeople.

Re: OK, political question

I'm a registered Democrat (for primaries) but I don't always vote a straight ticket. I've voted third party when I didn't like the other candidates and for local stuff I look for the candidates running on the Working Families Party line.

I vote for whomever I think will do the better job. I don't care what political affiliation they have.

I consider myself a democrat and I am currently unregistered for any political party. When I became 18, I registered republican. For many years, I had to stay registered that way so I could keep my summer job. I do vote both parties though, depending on the candidate.

I signed up repub so i could vote in the primary when Bloomberg was running. I was just so enamored with him.

I never botheres to change it.

I could always subvert the system and vote for people in the repub primaries who wouldn't win. haha

I've voted Dem, Repub, Independent, Green

whatever it takes.
