Re: Packing Tips
leave your clothes on the hanger
buy large tie closure garbage bags and cut a small hole in the bottom for the hangers- use as a garmet bag- then tie the top- uncase something comes lose

Re: Packing Tips
label, label, label.
try your best to make a box one particular area or room in the house so that you aren't stuck with some stuff for the bathroom, kitchen, or bedroom all mixed together.
forget newspaper---buy bubble wrap. wrapping things in newspaper seems okay at first---but after awhile--it can weigh the box down when you are using multiple sheets of it for items in one box.

Re: Packing Tips
If you have a lot of books...put a layer in every box...it helps to distribute the weight!

Re: Packing Tips
sort everything out by room and category - like, breakable/handle with care, bulk or general items in each room. so each room should have it's own category and then within each room their should be breakable/handle with care, bulk items and then general items - or you can make them more specific depending on what you have. then, make sure to label everything and try and pack everything as neatly as possible. bubble wrap helps a lot - lots of sharpies for the labeling!

Also, if you have the time, take a picture of all of the items you are putting in the box. I usually just put them all on a table together and snap a pic. Then I print it and put it on the box. The wardrobe box at U-Haul is a saviour.

Re: Packing Tips
label everything
pack a box a night....set your kitchen timer for one hour, and pack a box-it won't seem overwhelming that way.
start with stuff that you can live without for a while, like all your dvd's and videos.
also, use towels and sheets to wrap breakables in...leave two towels per person out, and then pack up the rest, same thing with the sheets, leave out two sets per bed that's being slept in, and pack the rest.
