Pain in Left Arm? (gas related TMI)

This is the second time, I'm woken in the middle of the night by sharp pain going all the way down my arm to my fingers. This is definitely new for me.

I don't have any other symptoms (like nausea, heavy breathing, etc), so its not my heart.
It doesn't feel like carpel tunnel because it goes from shoulder to fingers.
DH is a physician and he tells me its probably just gas and gave me an antacid which I reluctantly took, but it didn't work.
It didn't go away till the next afternoon after a bowel movement.

So the pain started again, I decided to try for a movement. As soon as bowels where free and clear, and the arm pain went away.

So freakishly strange, I just thought I'd post since I lately haven't had too many "oh my god! that was just gas??" posts. I feel like I should be famous for them.

It was really painful, I felt my arm was being sliced open in half. I hope no one experiences it, but if they do they can relax and try to see if its just gas

This has actually happened to me before. In fact, in the hospital after my c-section, I had really bad gas pains (common after surgery) and it went all the way into my right shoulder. It took a while for it to go away and I could hardly move my arm. I spoke to the nurse and she said it was gas.

Yes, I've heard of this - and it happened to me (SO painful) after my c-section. I am glad you're feeling better, I would see if you can take something like gas-x if it happens again!

Wow thats scary! I get the back gas pain where i want to crybecause i cant breathe in, but wow- arm pain from gas? So sorry hun!
