Paint brands

Going to be painting the walls soon in our house and I don't know anything about paint. Can anyone share any major differences between Behr and Benjamin Moore paints.. or any other major brands? Is one better quality/less expensive? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!! Chat Icon

Re: Paint brands

I've always heard that BM is one of the best quality paints you can buy. I tend to lean towards BM paints mearly because I like their colors better.

Also Sherwin Williams is a good quality paint with very nice color options.

Re: Paint brands

BM paint definitely goes on much smoother and with better coverage.

Re: Paint brands

We only use Benjamin Moore in our house. You definately can see a difference in the wall color & it is a lot easier to paint. Goes on smoother. For us, it is worth the extra $$

Same here. Years later the rooms still look fresh and new. I personally love their hsitorical collection, the colors are gorgeous!

Re: Paint brands

I've never used BM and wondered - do you put a second coat on with that paint? I know we had to with Behr.

Next time we'll try out BM. Chat Icon

BM is the way to go IMO. Nothing covers a wall like it.

Ralph lauren is a pain in the you know what, you need at least 3 coats.

Behr I heard was good quality, I just never used it before.

Re: Paint brands

We've used both Behr and Ben Moore. I like them both.

We used Ben Moore in our house this time around strictly because we liked their colors more. We did do two coats of paint in addition to one coat of primer.
