Paint Color Question
Okay, now that we own our house, we are finally starting to plan some painting/home improvement projects. So much fun!
What color do you think would match the living room fireplace shown in the photo below? DH and I would dearly love to avoid white since we've had that in all of our apartments over the years.
We are thinking a light tan or maybe a very pale yellow, almost white with a hint of yellow in it, but we thought it might clash with the fireplace.
The furniture by the way, is not ours. We would like to get new furniture at some point soon, so the color of our furniture is not a consideration. The room gets lots of light also.
Thanks for any suggestions! Image Attachment(s):

Re: Paint Color Question
I could see Audubon Russet on that wall as a focal point & warm rich tan on the others. Or depending on your taste a beautiful grey could be nice. I'm not seeing yellow with it at all.

Re: Paint Color Question
I would honestly not do any sort of yellow in a living room unless it was a deep gold accent or something. I would do a very light tan.

Re: Paint Color Question
I'm not seeing yellow either. I would pull colors from the stone. Audubon Russet would look nice or a green...even a grey (my latest paint color obsession )

Re: Paint Color Question
Thanks! Yes, I don't think a pale yellow is going to work with the fireplace tiles. I liked it in general as a living room color, but it would need to match what is in there. DH doesn't want any dark paint, so we may go with a light tan, but I can show him Autumn Russet and see what he thinks. Maybe he would agree to an accent wall and lighter walls elsewhere.
It is nice to have such a dilemma! This is fun--I've never owned a house before, can you tell?

You are too cute! I think a nice accent wall would be nice with the lighter tan walls. Nice touch and it would really play off of the fireplace colors. Enjoy this process, I know we are going to!

Re: Paint Color Question
Ahhh, I just looked at your photos and thought the Springfield Tan might work in our room also. It looks like a great color--not too light, and not too dark.
Thanks for the suggestions!
