Paint color suggestions for a dark hallway?
We don't want white, but our entry and upstairs hallways have no windows and are dark. Any suggestions for paint colors? I would love to see pics if you have them!

Re: Paint color suggestions for a dark hallway?
We used to have BM Bone White which is actually more of a cream than white. We now have Chestertown buff which is a nice yellow. We have it in our basement (which is fairly dark) and it really brightens it up. I am also attaching a pic of our den when the walls were Wilminton Tan. It is a nice light color.

Re: Paint color suggestions for a dark hallway?
We just painted Sherwin Williams sundew in our Den and LR..it is a beautiful beigey tan with a hint of yellow and adds lots of light. Both rooms were pretty dark. We painted our DR Navajo white from Behr I think..
Navajo White
Sundew-the beigey yellow part...this is pretty representative of how it looks on my walls.

Re: Paint color suggestions for a dark hallway?
I was just reading an article in a magazine that suggested using a dark or bold paint color in a small space, such as a hallway or a powder room (even if there isn't much natural light). The article suggested that a dark paint color can actually make small spaces look bigger because it makes the perimeter of the room seem to recede. And in a hallway, a bold color can be "punctuation" between the rooms. Who knew?
When I painted my entryway and hallway, I did a light, neutral color (because my rooms are colorful and I didn't want the hallway to clash with them, but rather tie them together). So I did one of the popular Benjamin Moore beiges. I don't remember the exact color, but I think it was Shaker Beige (maybe Bleeker Beige).

BM Manchester Tan is a great hallway color. It's very neutral and looks great in all different lighting. We have it throughout our house and get tons of compliments all the time. Our painter chose it for us.
