Paint fumes??
DH will be painting our new apartment next week and I wanted to know if I can help or am i better off staying away from the smell??? I would like to help...as much as I can, but he is all nervous that I shouldn't be around it.

I heard some paints are okay like BM. I wouldn't paint with him just because being pregnant you are ten times more likely to be bothered by the smell, but it's okay if the smell is in the house a bit.

"Regular" paint has toxic fumes that can off-gas for up to a year. That's the "paint smell" that everyone is familiar with. There are many brands with low-VOC or no VOC lines of paint. Your best bet (for your health, DH's health, DC's health, and the earth) is to get paint with as low a VOC content as possible.

we've been painting our house for the past couple of months and have been using BM Natura paint which is no VOC. there is no smell at all. i did help when we were painting the bedroom and as still physically able to help. it didn't bother me at all.
