painted front door?
has anyone painted their front door? I'm thinking of painting it black or a really dark brown. Right now its white. Im scared of it looking awful

Yes it was white and I painted it white. It looks great! Nice and fresh - it was a special paint at Home Depot (maybe oil paint or something I can remember...). Very happy with how it looks.

I painted mine this past spring. I went to Aboff and they helped me with picking the correct exterior paint.

I painted ours brick red and was happy with it. I used a Sherwin Williams exterior paint. If you are unsure of how a new color will look with your existing exterior, you can go there and look at their palettes. They have booklets with color combos and it's a great way to see what colors go well together. I am sure other paint companies have something similar.

Sure. My door was unpainted so I had to paint it. Same with the back door. I don't remember what paint I used but, I went to the store (not home depot but, a paint store.. I feel like HD the people never really know anything about paint) and told them what type of door I had and they helped me pick out the right one.
I did blue on the outside and white on the inside. The back door I did light green.

Yes, we did. It was red when we first moved in and we painted it a cranberry color, so not too far off.

My ILs painted theirs a dark gray and it looks really nice! I love painted front doors...to me they add a lot of character to a home.

Ours is green (yuck) we are painting our door and shutters black this weekend. Dh got a special paint it's from berh but I don't know what it's called exactly.

it is a deep red!
