Painting question
If we paint the Living room on Tuesday afternoon/night would it be dry enough to refinish the floor on Wednesday? (dust wise)

Re: Painting question
that depends. are you priming first? how many coats are you doing? i did my bedroom myself (11x14). it took me 2 days to prime and put on 2 coats. you should give at least 3 hours between coats to dry and make sure AC is on so the paint wont melt.

Yes we will be priming first and doing two coats of paint. There will be more than one person painting. We don't have AC

I would wait until it got cooler if you dont have ac. The paint wont stick as well if you paint in the heat especially if its humid.

Re: Painting question
Paint sometimes feel dry to the touch, but is actually still wet. All the dust from refinishing the floor could stick to the walls. I would wait at least one more day.

Agree totally! Use some fans if you don't have an AC. But the paint will take a lot longer to dry without the AC. Sorry! It's the humidity that is the probably with painting. GL!

Re: Painting question
we are having the same dilemma...my uncle wants to come paint our ceilings and hallway tomorrow but the floor guy is going to start sanding too...i think we're going to have to put off the floors until the weekend. its sounding more and more like it's unrealistic to have both done within a day or two.

Re: Painting question
we didnt paint until after the floors were finished....I put a masonite board down and dbled the painting sheets on the floor
I didnt want all the sanding dust on the walls plus when they sand near the walls I didnt want the guy to worry about scuffing them
