Pale yellow...white bowel movements?
I started transitioning Rylan to milk almost 2 months ago...now he's fully on it. Over the past few days his poops have been rock hard and a very pale yellow color...he just went again and some of it was white. Is this normal from the milk? Or can it mean his stomach isn't really tolerating it...maybe a milk allergy?

I know when I was nursing my ped. told me call if her poop was that color or black. I would call and see what they say.

I just called and she said they're not concerned with the color...as long as it's not black. BUT...I just googled it and everything I read says it is reason for concern. Now i'm confused

Because he's been transitioned over the course of months, I would say it's not the milk.
I'm assuming he's on table food.
I think he may have a stomach bug working itself out or something didn't agree with him & the food is passing through his body quickly.

Ack I just Googled it too. Hhhhmmm. So they said they are not concerned? did you tell them that he has also been constipated for a few days and there was some blood too? I would seriously call again. Did you speak to the doctor or a nurse? I would call again tomorrow if it's still the same and if he is still constipated and make an appointment to take him in.

Yeah...that's what I was thinking when I googled it too. I explained everything. I'm going to see how it goes tonight and call if needed in the morning. I also read constipation can be from dehydration also. He never drinks during the day...except his 3 bottles. I need to get more fluids in him but the problem is he won't drink anything but milk from his bottle...which can be constipating. He won't drink out of a sippy either so i'll have to let him drink out of a cup.

He poops everyday...sometimes a few times because he can't get it all out at once. It's just rocks hard balls when he does though.

I don't think they worry about a very pale yellow (as you described it) but they do worry about white (not pale) b.c white can mean I think liver or kidney issues.
If you are concerned you could call back and ask to bring him in. But I would watch him for a few days - does he have any other symptoms?

Nothing at all but the constipation...but he eats alot of dairy...milk...cheese...yogurt. I'm going to see if it happens again and if it does i'll bring the dirty diaper to the ped. I'm saving the white one from today too.

No Kidding! DmarieK, it sounds like you are doing the right thing. I am sure he'll get better soon. Has he been on antibiotics?

It sounds like milk allergy(my friend just went through that with her DD) They also say that white poop could the indication of the stomach virus(dr told us when DD had one) I would insist on going in and seeing the PED and I would bring a poop diaper to show them.
