pampered chef recipes?
I remember being at a party and someone serving some kind of chicken "wreath" made w/ crescent rolls. Does anyone know what I'm talking about or have a recipe. I'm thinking of trying something like this for New Years. TIA!

Re: pampered chef recipes?
I have the cookbook at home for that recipe. I love it. Basically you brown the meat and add taco seasoning. Unroll the crescent rolls (I think you need two tubes) and lay flat in a circle on pizza stone. Put meat on the dough and then roll the end over the meat. In the middle you can put a hollowed out green pepper with sour cream, salsa, lettuce.
If you want a more detailed recipe let me know and I can look it up when I get home.

Re: pampered chef recipes?
I'll post the full recipe tonight. I think it has cheese as one of the ingredients too.

Re: pampered chef recipes?
Is this the one? It sounds so good.
Taco Ring
1/2 lb. cooked ground beef 1 pkg taco seasoning 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese 2 Tbs water 2 8oz pkg crescent roll dough 1 med green pepper 1/2 head lettuce, shredded 1 med tomato, diced 1 small onion, diced 1/2 cup sliced black olives 1 cup salsa Sour cream
Heat oven to 375° F.
Combine meat, taco mix, cheese, and water. Arrange crescent triangles in a circle with bases overlapping and points out on the 13" stone, leaving a 5" circle in center. Spoon meat on triangle bases. Fold points over meat and tuck under.
Bake 20-25 min until brown.
Cut off the top of the pepper. Fill pepper with salsa and place in center of ring.
Mound lettuce, tomato, onions, and olives around pepper. Garnish with sour cream.

Re: pampered chef recipes?
Here is the other chicken one I found. I'm going to try this also one day with some modifications (I am allergic to almonds so none of those and I'll use different herbs because I don't like dill). This is for a braid, but I had it as a ring like the taco recipe:
Chicken Broccoli Braid
12 oz. cooked chicken, chopped (2 cups - about 3 cooked boneless skinless chicken breast halves) 1 C. broccoli, chopped 1/2 C. red bell pepper, chopped 1 clove garlic, pressed 4 oz. sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded (1 cup) 1/2 C. mayonnaise 2 tsp. All-purpose Dill Mix (or 1 teaspoon dillweed) 1/4 tsp. salt 2 pkg. (8 oz. each) refrigerated crescent rolls 1 egg white, lightly beaten 2 T. slivered almonds
Preheat oven to 375ºF.
Chop chicken and broccoli and place in bowl. Add chopped red bell pepper. Press garlic over mixture and shred cheese over mixture. Add mayonnaise, dill mix and salt. Mix well.
Unroll package of crescent rolls. Do not separate. Arrange longest sides of dough across width of 12 x 15-inch pan and repeat with remaining package of dough. Roll out dough to seal perforations. On long side of pan, cut dough into strips 1 1/2 inches apart, 3 inches deep leaving approximately 6 inches in the center of dough for filling. Spread filling evenly over middle of dough.
To braid: lift strips of dough across mixture to meet in center, twisting each strip one turn. Continue alternating strips to form braid. Tuck ends under to seal at ends. Brush egg white over dough and sprinkle with almonds. Baked 25-28 minutes or until deep golden brown.
