Pansies

If I plant pansies now, how long will they stay alive?

Re: Pansies

my parents own a garden center... the pansies will last until it starts to get really hot out... usually mid to end of June, maybe a little longer depending on the weather... they definitely won't last through the whole summer, but they're GREAT for color in early spring ( like now)

Re: Pansies

I'm actually thinking of planting them in the same pots that I plant my summer flowers. I guess if they'll be gone by the time the summer flowers are ready to plant I can give it a try.

Re: Pansies

anyone ever plant them in the ground?

i am SO itching to get to planting, i can't believe i have to wait another month and a 1/2... my other things are just budding out of the ground, no flowers yet... just ONE tulip (i think that's what it is)

Re: Pansies

Pansies flower till the summer, they should stay green for a long time after that and should grow back again next year (if nothing eats them) I would plant the impatiens next to them since the pansies will still be green.

Yes you can plant them in the ground and you can do that now. Mine are planted into the ground and my daffodils and tulips are already up. The daffodils are already flowered and the tulips still have a little bit till they flower...

They look nice and are doing well. Not sure how long they will last, my first attempt at pansies.
