Re: parent teacher conferences?
Our P/T conferences are at the very end of November, which I think is pretty typical. We have Superintendent's Conference Day next Tuesday (kids are off), then we are off the following Monday for Vet's Day.

Re: parent teacher conferences?
It depends on the school you work at too in my district.
The HS is at the end of Nov. The MS is next week. The elementary schools are the middle of Nov (just before Thanksgiving)

Re: parent teacher conferences?
I am in VA, not that this will help you, but the kids are off Mon. and Tues. so we can do conferences. I actually started mine today. I am doing two every morning so I will have most of Tuesday to do planning.

Re: parent teacher conferences?
i work in NJ... we have conferences in 2 weeks. the way my district does it, is the kids have a whole week of half days.the schedule looks like this
MONDAY, WEDNESDAY, FRIDAY: kids leave at 1, teachers stay, and conferences are scheduled from 1-3
TUESDAY AND THURSDAY: are evening conference days. teachers can leave at 1, but have to come back from 6-8 for evening conferences.
its a little confusing, but i think its a good way to accomodate working parents, too by having some evening options...
ETA: fall conferences are mandatory, all parents have to come in, which is why there is so much time scheduled for them. in the spring, we only have 2 days of conferences, and those are by parent or teacher request.
