Parental control computer software

Does anyone have a software installed on their computer for software controls? We have cablevision IO, so we don't have AOL or anything that has it already built in. I'm looking to block out certain websites and monitor things that my stepdaughter does on the computer. If you have something, what is is called and where did you get it from? Thanks.

A friend of mine has Spector Software. She loves it because she can use it to actually see what her daughter is doing. It takes a picture of the computer screen every couple of seconds. That way if her daughter finds a way around her blocks (and let's face it, kids are getting smarter about these things) she can still see what she is doing.

Another friend of mine used it and was able to use it against her husband who was cheatng on her.

got a post card today about a program that the police dept puts out to monitor childrens activity on the computer. they are giving it out for free at the huntington library next wednesday. i can fm the info if interested

Check out the Today Show website. They recently had a story on this kind of thing. I remember there being a program that even records key stokes so you can keep an eye on emails being exchanged also.,
