Parents of 14- 15 month olds....and BTDT parents nap questions
I have a nap question. DS is 14.5 months old and has always taken 2 naps. A morning nap around 9 for about an hour and an afternoon nap around 1 for an hour or maybe longer. He gets up around 7 am (maybe a little earlier) and goes to bed around 7 pm.
Now the past few days the naps have been short or inconsistent. Today, he doesn't seem to want to nap in the morning.
I think it may be time to switch to one nap a day.
So my questions are... 1. At what age do DC's usually switch to one nap per day? 2. At what time does that nap occur? 3. Do you feed DC lunch before or after? 4. Does your DC go to bed earlier during that time? (I can't imagine DS staying up from about 1 - 7 pm)
Thanks for your help! I did a search on here but couldn't find that much info.
Thanks again!

Re: Parents of 14- 15 month olds....
Again Ive are boys are the same. I could've written this myself
Yesterday he didn't even nap. Maybe 20 mins in the car and that was it. I tried sooo hard to get him to nap earlier.
Looks like he's going to move to one nap. I noticed on his daycare chart that the naps are now later in the afternoon. Usually anytime between noon and 1 he naps and then that's it.

Re: Parents of 14- 15 month olds....
Around this time for both DS's the nap changed to one nap
I give lunch about 12 pm and then they slept from 12-2ish give or take

Re: Parents of 14- 15 month olds....
DS switched to one nap at 13 months when he started daycare. It was easy because we just followed their schedule. The first few days his naps were short but got longer as he got used to it - now, at almost 2 years, he still takes one nap that lasts about 3 hours. He goes to bed around 7:30pm and wakes anywhere between 7 and 8am.
DS isn't a big lunch eater, so he gets a small meal around 11:30, nap from 12-3, and then a snack when he wakes up.
Once your DS gets used to the one nap, you should be able to push it back. Before this, DS was up at 7 and napped from 9-12 and against from 2-4. When we switched we gradually increased the amount of time he was awake so now he can stay up for 3-4 hours easily before napping.

1. At what age do DC's usually switch to one nap per day?
Mine transitioned around 15 months.
2. At what time does that nap occur?
Usually around 12:30. It can be anywhere from 2-3 hours.
3. Do you feed DC lunch before or after?
Before. THey get a snack after.
4. Does your DC go to bed earlier during that time? (I can't imagine DS staying up from about 1 - 7 pm)
Nope, they still go to bed about 7:30.

Re: Parents of 14- 15 month olds....and BTDT parents nap questions
Thanks everyone!
I think we will start with the one nap tomorrow.
DS will return to day care in Sept but he doesn't go 5 days a week. Somedays DH is home with him so we need to work on a new routine.
