Parents of 8-12 month olds--Feeding
Hi Ladies, I haven't posted a question in a while! I was just curious to see what your children are eating, how much formula, too.
Matteo's eating lately 3 bottles a day only, then oatmeal with fruit 2 times and veggies once, and meat w/ veggie or fruit once.
What are your kids eating? Does this seem like an OK amount of formula, should he bet getting more (he gets about 24 oz, sometimes a little less)

Re: Parents of 8-12 month olds--Feeding
my dr said 18-24 ounces of formula or breastmilk is fine
my son is eating cereal in the morning, fruit for lunch, and cereal and veggie for dinner, we are just starting little finger foods too, like gerber puffs, bananas and cheerios. He'll be 8 months tommorow.

Re: Parents of 8-12 month olds--Feeding
Matteo's girlfriend, Lauren, gets 3 bottles a day - when she wakes, beofre her afternoon nap and before bed. Each are 6-7 ounces, so I would say she averages 20 ounces a day of formula.
She eats 3 meals a day. She has cereal with 1 jar of fruit for breakfast. For lunch, 1 jar of something, plus table food like cheese or something I am intorducing. Dinner is 1 jar of meat with 1 veggie.
She eats Gerber puffs all day long and is eating Cheerios too. Plus wagon wheels. And other stuff too.
HTH! I miss your posts!!

Re: Parents of 8-12 month olds--Feeding
My son is 10 1/2 months. He nurses right when he wakes up, before his morning nap, before his afternoon nap, and before he goes to bed. I don't know how much milk he gets. He eats three meals a day. For breakfast I give him adult oatmeal with banana, lunch is usually steamed veggies and applesauce, and dinner is the same, but usually also either a mashed baked or sweet potato (about half of one) or chicken, or a boca burger as well. He snacks on cut up fruit, or the organic O cereal. He is a hungry boy! I can not believe how much food such a little guy can pack away.
I think it sounds fine! I think the amount of milk he is getting sounds right.

Thank you ladies! Much appreciated.
Trish--Your little Lauren (aka, Matteo's girlfriend!) is going to have to teach him how to pick up the Gerber Puffs, right now he just smacks them around, not interested!

He's not alone. Ellie is completely not into puffs at all. same thing just pushes them around.
