Parents of Daycare kids...
How does your morning routine go?
We are starting daycare soon and I can't imagine trying to get me, my husband and the baby out the door.
What does your morning schedule look like?

Re: Parents of Daycare kids...
I get everything ready the night before. I don't have to do anything but get DS dressed and give him a milk in the morning. When he was small, and still trying new foods, I would feed him too before we left. Eventually, when he was done with everything, I let them feed him breakfast at daycare. But his bag was packed the night before and I shower the night before.

Re: Parents of Daycare kids...
I drop my DD off at my sisters in the morning but I do the same thing. I have everything set out and her bag packed the night before so all I have to do is shower, get us ready and we can be out the door. eventually it gets easier and you become more comfortable in your routine.

I also pack DD's bag the night before. In the morning I shower and get ready before she wakes up. When she gets up (sometimes I have to wake her) I change and dress her then give her a bottle and we leave.

Re: Parents of Daycare kids...
I try and do everything for me before I wake him up - take a shower, get dressed, get lunch ready. Then i wake him up and get him dressed. I think I would be better off if I got everything ready the night before, but i am too tired! You will find a flow and it will be like clockwork. However, there are some days, I am literally running out of the house. He is fed at daycare, so that is a lot easier.

Re: Parents of Daycare kids...
I get up when DH leaves the house (5:50am). I am ready by 6:20-6:30am depending on how much effort goes into my hair I use the next 30 minutes to pick up, get DD's stuff ready, eat breakfast, etc...DD usually gets up at 7am (sometimes earlier, sometimes later). She gets a sippy of milk, a little breakfast, then I dress her and we are usually out the door by 7:45 am, then I drop her off at daycare and I get to work around 8:15.
When we first started daycare at 14 weeks I was still commuting into the city and I felt it was harder - DD woke up at 5am, then I would feed her, put her back down to sleep and then I would get ready and hope she wouldn't wake up before I was finished. Then after I was ready, I would finish getting her ready and leave the house at 6:45am.
My husband is on his own! He leaves at 5:50am though.
The first couple of weeks is rough, but you will get into a schedule and it will become second nature.

Re: Parents of Daycare kids...
I remember thinking this way - now it's second nature.
Cailen wakes up - early - he lays in bed with us for a bit. I take him downstairs, let him watch Noggin, sit with him for a few minutes, get in the shower, or DH gets in first- then I get dressed, ready, grab Cailen and dress him, get his lunch together, maybe play for a few minutes, and we are out the door.
piece of cake!!!

Re: Parents of Daycare kids...
Hubby does the drop off/pick up since I work in the city and he’s in Long Island.
6:00am wake up and change/feed AJ 6:10am Feed our cats and give insulin to our diabetic cat 6:20am AJ either snoozes or is playful 6:30am I start to get ready for work 6:45am Hubby gets ready (jeans/tshirt) 6:50am Get AJ ready (hoody, bags, other necessities we have forgotten the night before) 7:00am In the truck and off to the LIRR Train Station 7:05am Hubby leaves Train Station and drives AJ to daycare 7:12am Mommy is on her way to work (train leaves) 7:20am Hubby arrives and waits for someone to come into the daycare 7:30am Hubby officially drops AJ off (aka the hand off) 7:40am Hubby drives home 7:45am Hubby naps or does whatever he does 8:15am Hubby showers and gets ready for work 8:45am Hubby is out the door and off to work 8:45am Mommy gets to work 9:00am Hubby gets to work
Believe it or not.. the routine works so smooth its super easy. You get to find out what works for you and you tweak it until its easy and then its smooooooth sailing.

Re: Parents of Daycare kids...
Once you establish a routine, it will be a piece of cake. I was nervous at the beginning too, but now I'm on auto pilot in the morning.
I pick out clothes and make lunches the night before. At 5:30 I get up, shower, get dressed. Then I get out the lunches, make coffee and milk. At 6:30, I get DD up then do my make up. After she is usually awake, so I dress her. She watches tv and has milk while I eat breakfast. She has breakfast a daycare. We are out the door by 7:15
