Parents Who Did Not Immediately Bond with their Babies...

when would you say this happened? I'm not sure myself, all I know is I did not feel connected to DS at all when he was first born and at the time, I felt bad about that. I was interested in him, but I didn't feel this intense wave of love you hear about.

I want to say it happened around a month, maybe a little sooner. Can't remember the day or the moment, it just sort of hit me that I loved him intensely. And it has been increasing ever since.

Just curious how it was for others.

I wouldn't say that i didn't bond with him, but I wasn't one of those who was like "oh I am so totally in love" but I did bond with him. It took me a few weeks to do that falling in love thingy...

it actually took me quite a while....a few months

With my daughter, they were not sure that her kidneys were functioning properly. She had to go through an invasive test. They would not let me in the room with her just my husband. I heard her crying so hard and I was outside of the room and that's when I knew I would lay down my life for her and that I DID love her.


Luckily for me it was instant with my son.

I felt more fear at first than anything else. I knew I was totally in love with him the first time he smiled at me... So maybe 2 months.

i would say a few months too, dd went right to the NICU for 3 days after a c-section and i blame it one that... i feel robbed of my special bonding time with her
