I have only done Gymboree so far when dc was about 6 months old. honestly, I didn't think it was worth it and I do not think DD got much out of it. She just turned one now and I am thinking about singing her up for something when she's fullly walking.

Do the Gymboree first. The Music Together is good for when they're a little older.

I've done both. I hated Music Together and I love Gymboree.

I liked both - but I like Gymboree better personally.

I like that he is more active - and it teaches him things. Every week I see him doing something that he wouldn't do the week before. I like seeing the progress before my eyes!

Funny, I would say the exact opposite.

DS actually really liked Music Together young; got nothing out of Gymboree at the same age.

At 14 mos, I'd say if you're only doing 1 definitely Gymboree - especially if your DC isn't in a daycare or preschool setting. More kid to kid interaction and physical action.

How about going to a free trial at both places to see what your DC likes better since all kids are different! Chat Icon

DD did music together for a full year starting right after she turned 1. She is such a musical child now and I have them to thank for it! We didn't do Gymboree but she did gymnastics for 6mths and while that was enjoyable as well it was more exhausting and it didn't tire DD out as I had hoped!Chat Icon

DS LOVES MT and he has been in it since he is 2 months old.

At 15 months I put him in Little GYM and he is okay with it---but I think he enjoys MT better. I will resign him for spring 09

I take MT with Logan, he is 4 months......he likes it I think! He never cries!! Plus now it helps sooth him now if we sing to him!! So I sing a few soft songs at night and we sing fun songs in the AM!

I won't sign him up for any Gymboree or anything of the sort till he is close to walking............I can't see how they get too much out of it until then.

As our MT teacher says, music is the foundation for many things, including dance, so I would say music.

We are in Music Together now. DS is 6 months old, we are not big fans. I am going to try the Gymboree music class in the spring. I have heard though that MT depends highly on the teacher. Maybe ours just is not that great.
