Paris Trip - Need some help please...
Hi there,
Dh & I are planning a trip to Paris & we're really not sure which area to book our hotel in. I know it's probably a personal preference, but I'd really like to hear some feedback...
If you had to pick one of these areas, which do you think it'd be... The Champs Elysees, the Eiffel Tower, The Latin Quarter, or somewhere between the Louvre & Notre Dame...?
TIA everyone!

Re: Paris Trip - Need some help please...
We went last May and we stayed in the Hilton by the Eiffel Tower. It was beautiful down there, but I thought it was a bit far from everything, since it is in the corner of the city. We spent most of our time by the Champs Elysees and the Louvre area. Champs is where all the restaurants we went to were and the stores are open late for browsing.
That being said, the Metro in Paris is really easily accessible and if you are used to subways, you can get around really easily. We didn't rent a car, we just used the Metro to get around.
I LOVED Paris, let me know if you have any other questions!

Re: Paris Trip - Need some help please...
I don't know anything about areas in Paris, but about 4 years ago my company took us on a weekend trip to see Madonna in Paris, and we had a great time, we ate lots of pizza, we drank lots of wine...before we knew it, it was 1 am and the metro was shut and not a taxi was to be found. We walked 4 miles back to our hotel.
The moral of this story, stay somewhere close to the nightlife. Getting home after a night out in Paris is a nightmare!!!

I like staying in the Latin Quarter as well. Everything is so accessible, it really doesn't matter where you stay as the metro is everywhere and walking was fun as well..
