What's the parking situation like at these two LIRR stations? Can you get a spot around 8:00 or do you need to be there really early?

Also, do you have to live in that town to get a parking permit?

Thanks!

Garden City you need a permit. What about Mineola there is a huge parking garage you don't need a permit and it is quicker than the hempstead line

Manhasset is pretty crowded and I believe you need to be a resident of Manhasset with a permit. They have a couple of non resident spots (usually always filled) and you need a permit for them too.

The Manhasset Train station fills up by about 8:30. My husband takes the 7:44 most days and has never had a problem. When he takes the 8:16 - which is rare - he never has a problem. After that you are taking a chance. The Plandome Station, which is also in Manhasset, never fills up. You will get a spot there any time of day. You need to live in either Manhasset or Plandome to get a sticker for the appropriate station. You also need to pay $3 per day at the Manhasset station. I am not sure about Plandome. There are about 10 nonresident spots at the Manhasset station - you need to pay $6 per day to park there and I have never seen an empty spot (I always took the 7:44 but I imagine they fill up wwwaaaaaayyyyyyy before that!).
