Partial Kitchen Redo -Newbie
First, i would just like to say hi, i have stalked this board from a distance and all of you have been very helpful to a new long islander (queens native). On to my question...
We just bought a home in Hicksville and we do not have money for a COMPLETE redo (which i would loveeee, sigh) but our kitchen needs some work. I'm thinking of adding cabinets (there are just huge gapsin between ??) , staining cabinets, some molding on top and bottom and a new countertop. My husband, bless his efforts is NOT handy, and we would need to hire someone to install, does anyone have any reccomendations and ideas on how much something like this would cost? We went to Lowes/HD and they said they only REDO kitchens:(
If anyone has been in the same situation and can offer and suggestions, PLEASE DO.

Welcome to the new world of "home ownership". Ask any question you have. We are all here to help.
I would recommend going onto www.servicemagic.com. It's a website that offers contracts that have been prescreened. You log in and give them the info you need work for, then you get recommendations back for 3-4 contractors in your area that can help you. So you would probably get handyman information I think. They might call you first or you can contact them yourself. There are lots of reviews right on the website before you contact them. I have used this site serveral times and they are really good. Really good customer service too. GL with your kitchen.
