partial molar pregnancy

I am an infertility patient who actually got pregnant on my own in March. I lost the pregnancy (my third miscarriage) and just found out that I had a partial molar. I will be contacting Dr. Braverman since he has been my doctor for quite some time, but I wanted to know if anyone on here has had experience with this. My ob said I needed to wait 6 months before trying again, but I keep seeing one year on the internet. Has anyone else been through this?

Thanks for any and all info.

Re: partial molar pregnancy

My best friend had a partial molar pregnancy in January. She was (I think) 7 or 8 weeks when she miscarried.

She is having to wait for 6 months of clear blood tests before she can try again. Assuming her blood test in July is clear, they can try again. She told me the other day that the hCG is only now out of her urine, as per the blood test she had the other day. I think her last beta was 3.

She was devastated and upset that she has to wait the 6 months (despite the fact that she gets pg very easily), but never said anything about her OB saying a year.

HTH! I'm sorry for your loss. Chat Icon

Re: partial molar pregnancy

I know this is an old post ,but I just came across it ,and thought I could add my experience .

I had a molar pregnancy ,and was told to wait 6 months also ( b/c of the chance of tissue spreading , and we needed the HCG #'s to go back to normal ) well 3 months later I got pregnant ( I wasn't trying )

She was totally healthy ,but I did have some issues with a test for downs that came back positive ...I had an amnio, and it was a false positive ( I don't know if having the molar pregnancy had anything to do with throwing the test off !

Anyway , she was perfectly healthy !! I would wait the 6 months ,and take it from there Chat Icon
