Re: Passport for my baby?
yes we got one for my son last year just in case we wanted to leave the country. (also to prove he was under 3 for Disney since it was so close to his Bday and he's such a big boy)
We went to our local Post Office and they processed the paperwork, if both parents are not present you need a notarized note from the one who cannot be there to sign in person.
took about 3 months to get it. HTH

Re: Passport for my baby?
we have one for our older one and are going to go tomorrow for our younger one.
I think it makes it easier for both parents to go together. We got photos taken from CVS - but the post office by me has a photo service too.

Re: Passport for my baby?
I have a passport and Non-Drivers State ID card for DS. Many local post offices will do the passport application-some even take the picture but sometimes it is cheaper to go to a local CVS that takes passport pix. I would just call ahead to make sure your local post office offers the service and if not they will refer you to the next closest location. Also like I said got a Non-Driver State ID card from DMV as an ID card for DS so I would not always have to worry about carrying around a birth certificate or expensive passport for ID for anywhere or a more local flight. The DMV will do this ID card for $10 you just need to bring the birth certificate and ORIGINAL SS card (NOT just the # as we sadly made the mistake of doing!) Check online to make sure for either application you have all the proper IDs and info so they don't send you home and you have to go all the way back again for something stupid-good luck! **PS start early it takes a few months sometimes unless you expedite which is $$

Re: Passport for my baby?
We did it for DD this past summer to go to Mexico. It was easy. Just got the app at the post office, got the photo filled it out and went in to the post office to drop it off.
