Passport question...

I mailed in my passport with the additional cost in order to expidite the process. It's been over 10 days and I haven't received it...is there somewhere I can call or check online to see the status???

10 days? There is such a back up that we expedited ours in Mid-February and got them last week. The lady at the post office told us if we expedite it, its 6-8 weeks...if we didn't it would take 6 months.

I heard expedited took 2-4 weeks... I just sent mine also.

I expedited mine and got it 2 weeks after I mailed it in.

I got mine back today. I Expedited it and mailed it out on April 30th.

I hope mine comes back... the lady at the post office was SOOO nasty and threw my photos back at me telling me that they wouldnt work... i followed the directions to a T- so I made her send them in... she was just so rude.

The last time I got a passport I was in college living in Fla. The lady there told me my NY birth certificate wasn't really a birth certificate and I had to send away for another one... i listened... what a waste of time and money! She had no clue what she was talking abotu... she just didnt know what a NY birth certificate looked like!

I SOOO wish I had expideted my passports.. I sent mine back in February and they assured me that we would have our passports back by our trip May 27th...

Well, We have not received them as of yet. I called yesterday, granted it took me about 4 hours of my time, getting through the first time and the computers were down, waiting on the phone later in the day for an hour and half then getting disconnected and then finally getting through to someone at 8:00...

I was told that I would have to call back on Monday since the agency was closed to have them expedited since it is 14 days from our trip I asked then why would you have said that sending them the regular way was fine..I i would have thought 3 months would do the trick, well no... SO I have to call back again and hope they can expedite it... I refuse to pay the extra money for their incompetency and htey supposedly said I would not have to...Oh the kicker, they asked me my birthdate and they told me that they have the wrong birthdate in the system... I have called twice before and no one ever told me that so no I am even more livid... They put a message int the system to correct the date. Could you imagined if I didn't call and received my paasport in the mail with the incorrect bithdate??? They chalked it up to a data entry error.... so now I am hoping this gets taken care of..

I am so upset about this situation... Unfortunately I have read on the internet that this sort of thing is happening way to often. I am hoping this will get sorted out on Monday.. Please pray... We haven't been away on a vacation since our Honeymoon 4 years ago and we are so looking forward to our trip to Aruba..

Bottom line--to anyone who needs a passport expedite it, it is so worth the extra money to not have this heartache and fustration at the US government.

I just got mine now... I went to the post office last Friday... wow... only 8 days!!! and they did take my photos... stupid post office people...
