Patchogue/Medford
What are the nicer parts of those 2 areas? My Mom said south of Mountauk highway but she also said she has no clue about either area

IMO south of montauk is not the greatest part of Patchogue. Parts of East Patchogue are nice, and some of North Patchogue. As far as Medford goes, I think that if you aim to stay south of the LIE all parts are decent.

there are lots of LIFers that live in that area so I'm sure you'll get great detailed responses! I know there is an area of Medford that is North & borders Gordon Heights. I would specifically stay away from that area.

Check the school district. Any part of Medford that is part of Longwood school district would IMO be an area to stay away from. Don't know enough about the different areas of Patchogue to comment.

Hey...that's not fair!!! We live in Eagle Estates, just north of the LIE and we love it!!!
I agree with the rest of the post though...Actually, I think down by the water in Patchogue is beautiful...it's just south and north of Montauk that is iffy.
They are rebuilding the town and doing a great job of it, though IMO.
There are all new condo's that just went up directly south of Montauk in the village and beautiful town homes are being built down by the water.

I live in Patchogue, north of Montauk. There are like 2 blocks that are not the greatest that are south of montauk, otherwise you are talking beautiful, well kept houses, many that are near the water! FM me with any questions.
