I am so sad about this. It briought back so much emotion from losing my dad -- who was around the same age -- to this disease less than two years ago.
I had really hoped Patrick would beat it -- first and foremost, for himself and his family. But, I also had hoped that we would have a celebrity survivor who could champion the cause of the pancreatic cancer community. It makes such a difference if there is a celebrity championing your cause. Shouldn't be that way, but it is...
And, aside from all that - he was a phenomenal actor, fought pancreatic cancer with strength, grace, and dignity, and seemed like a great man.
I wish his family peace.
