Re: paver patio maintenance
we add some sand in between the bricks every 2-3 years...it will compact down after a while and hold the bricks together.
We powerwash them also...but only the parts that are really dirty and stained from the leaves.
We never seals our driveway or patio (had them dont at the same time ) and they still look the same as when they were installed.

We add this stuff every 2 years that's like a sand cement mix so no weeds grow through--it looks so pretty when it's done.

Re: paver patio maintenance
We are getting ready to do it next weekend. I will ask DH--he has 2 bags of it in the garage.
ETA: It's polymeric sand--comes in all different colors. And a bunch of companies make it.

Re: paver patio maintenance
We have bad white calcium deposits on ours.
I am HIGHLY annoyed about this, they look dirty and filthy and just gross
Supposedly the people who installed them are coming this week, and they better fix it. We paid alot of money for these pavers and they should be perfect

We just cleaned all the moss and weeds out from in between our bricks and want to try to use this sand. Where can you buy it?

Re: paver patio maintenance
power wash and then add paver sand. it is a time consuming task but not difficult. i did most of it myself and it took a few days (pavers all around the pool, concrete steps, blue stone patio, sunroom, paver front walk and concrete front porch) we were going to seal as well but think we'll wait til early fall or early spring. sealing isn't necessary but i love the "wet" look.

i bought at ace hardware. warning though it is such a PITA to use. you either have to mix with water before applying or use broom to apply and then wet with hose. you have to be careful that it stays within the cracks as you do not want it to dry on the pavers.
the paver sand was SO much easier to use.
