PCOS?
Hi girls:
Wanted some advice on PCOS. I am not diagnosed and only been trying 1 month, but I was always a bit concerned as I never had regular periods, have excessive hair growth, migraines, had higher testosterone/androgen levels, cysts found on my right ovary a few years back, etc. Just started charting and it looks like a roller coaster ride. Was on the pill for about 8 years with a 5 month stint off with CRAZY cycles. LP was March 16 and formally off the pill as of that weekend. On day 39 and not "panicking" about it, but wanting to know what I should look out for. I know it seems like I am raising a red flag but I have always been the exception to the rule in my family when it comes to anything medical.
I know RE won't see me unless we've been trying for at least a year but I feel like a few too many signs....I know its a syndrome but what would you do looking back now knowing what you know? Any suggestions?
I want to stress that I am not freaking out but just a bit concerned. I really feel for all you women and the love you have of your future children and the family you want and deserve. Any advice is appreciated.

Re: PCOS?
It sounds like you have the classic symptoms of PCOS. However, if I were you I would speak to your gyn about this and maybe he or she can run some tests for you. I too never had regular periods and i'm being treated for PCOS.

Re: PCOS?
Go to see a doctor. Even if not for TTC--don't let it go when they could probably help control the side effects of PCOS. I'm no doctor, but in reading about the things we're more likely to get when we're older...controlling those hormones now could help you later in life.

Re: PCOS?
I would definately at least go talk to your OB about the symptoms - you dont need to see an RE for pcos.
