Peanuts / PB during pregnacy
I read an article that talked about a study... it showed that women who ate a lot of PB or peanuts during pregnancy were less likely to have a child w/a peanut allergy. Has anyone else heard this? I'll eat peanuts daily if it will help ensure that my child might not be allergic to nuts!

Peanuts / PB during pregnacy
I ate a lot of pb with both pregnancies. #1 is not allergic and #2 is too young for food yet so we'll see with her.
We do not have a family history of nut allergies.

I don't know if it is true or not but I eat peanut butter and jelly almost every day anyway.

Peanuts / PB during pregnacy
I love peanut butter but couldn't stomach it during pregnancy, so I rarely ate it. DD eats it like it's going out of style. (she's 3.5) She also eats Trail Mix bars with different kinds of nuts in them and there are no allergies whatsoever. There are no histories of nut allergies in mine or DH family also.

I heard that but who knows. It changes all the time
I am not a fan of peanut butter at all and never ate it while pregnant because I just don't like it- and DD has no nut allergies at all
So who knows?

I've heard this, but I've also heard the opposite... though that's if you have a family history of nut allergies. I practically LIVE on peanut butter and all different kinds of nuts, even before I got pregnant. I eat pistachios and cashews daily now. Here's hoping the kid is not allergic, because if they are, I'm returning them!

Same! I've heard it decreases the chances and I've heard it causes allergies too. But I ate PB often when pregnant. My pediatrician advised introducing PB early to help avoid allergies. DD had it for the first time around 8 months though and she has no issues.

Peanuts / PB during pregnacy
There is no correlation between the amount of peanut you eat during pregnancy and your child having a peanut allergy.
My son has a peanut allergy, my daughter does not. I ate the same amount of pb while pregnant with both. No history of peanut allergy either.
Not sure if it the same study, but the most recent study that came out about the origin of peanut allergies was partially funded by the peanut industry, so it is a tad bit bias.

I had GD during my first pregnancy and I ate PB daily at least and DD has a peanut allergy as well as some tree nut allergies. We have no family history of either. Her allegist told me that eating or not eating nuts has no relation to whether the child develops an allergy.

I ate a lot of PB on rice cakes while pg with my DS, and he's allergic to nuts. It doesn't even run in our family. I believe that if you're going to be allergic there isn't much that can be done to prevent it.

Peanuts / PB during pregnacy
I practically lived on PB with my 1st pregnancy and DS1 is allergic to peanuts. I had barely any PB with my 2nd pregnancy since DS1 is allergic to peanuts and DS2 is not allergic. I think no one knows anything about allergies.
