Pearls...would you get a 16" or 18" strand?

MIL is getting me pearls for my birthday, but I'm still deciding what length. Do they even come in 16 inch?

I've seen them come in 16". My pearls are 18" and sit perfectly at my neckline. I think it really depends on your neck size though cause my cousins neck is smaller and the 16" was ok for her but would be like a choker on me Chat Icon

ITA. I have a very dainty frame so most necklaces are ill-fitting on me. (Forget about bracelets, I physically CANNOT wear them since they will slide off my wrist.) I have an 18" strand and it's just a little bit too long to sit on my neck properly. But, they were fashioned in such a way that I could clip it tighter and have the few extra pearls hanging down the back of my neck which actually looked soooooooo pretty.

I have a pretty small neck, so I think 16 is what I want. I just wanted to see if everyone loved 18 over 16

I think it is completely personal. I would measure your favorite necklace and use that as a guide. I personally need 18 inches as 16 inches is a choker on me.

you can always do the 18" and get a pearl adjuster.

I think you should go and try some on

I have a strand that's actually 17'' .. it was custom made, which is why it's an odd number.

I have both, one strand was my mom's the other my great aunt's.
I prefer the 18 because the 16 sits high on my neckline. Whichever strand I wear depends on what I'm wearing.

Best thing is to go try on both sizes and see which one feels more comfortable on you.
