He is really good, i like him alot..and his patients seem pleased,,,i also never wait long which is usual at an ortho.. if i need surgery, hell be doing it..definately recommended

Re: Pediatric Orthopedic...anyone have an experience with either of these drs?
We used Dr. Lewis b/c my DD was born with clubbed feet. I believe he really does work miracles! What he did with my DD, who had to have 2 full leg casts at 10 days of birth was amazing. He re-casted her weekly for 6 weeks and by week 3 her feet looked normal. She did need bar shoes to make sure the feet didn't return to their old position but still...it was an amazing transformation.
The office that we go to is in East Meadow on Hempstead Tpke. He still has 2 offices.
I am glad we have him BUT I do have 2 things that I would change if I could. #1 his office is always SUPER busy so the wait can be 1 hour+. Although when DD was a newborn, they made sure we got the first appointment and they would scoot us right in and not make us wait in the waiting room. As she got older though (now she is 2), we just eased into the mainstream of long waits. #2 he doesn't have the best bed-side manner. While he knows his stuff and is a great doctor in that way, he's not really a warm body. We opted to have a doctor that was the tops in his field vs. a doctor that would be maybe more on the sensitive side.
If you have any other questions about him, FM me.

Re: Pediatric Orthopedic...anyone have an experience with either of these drs?
I went to Dr. Lewis with my DD 2 years ago. He was recommended to me by a friend who used him. I have 2 family members in the HC field who said he is considered the best ped ortho on LI (there really aren't many to begin with but he is well respected) I only had one visit bc she didn't require anything further but I was told in advance that the wait is long. My friend, who has gone many times with both her children, has waited for hours in his waiting room. She personally knows his PA who told her that Dr Lewis sometimes shows up 2 hours late so his backlog isn't always due to the appts. running over. So that part is just ridiculous but his reputation is very good. It's one of those things you have to weigh out and decide. GL

Is Island Orthopeds. Dr. Barkin, Carroll, etc on Broadway. If it is, they are very nasty and the wait is extremely long.
