Pediatrician rec?
DH and I are reseraching peds in our area and I'm wondering if anyone has some good recommendations? Our DS is due next month and I want a doctor who agrees with our type of health philosophy...I don't think we're looking for anyone too non-traditional, but we want a dr. who won't push antibiotics, has good appointments available (eves/Sat AM if possible), and possibly has separate office hours for sick visits vs. well visits so sick babies don't get healthy babies ill. We live on the south shore of Suffolk, so we're willing to go anywhere from Oakdale to Patchogue. Any advice would be great! TIA!

Re: Pediatrician rec?
I think the office hours for sick/well babies is unheard of. Sick babies can't wait for the doctors "sick" office hours, they have to go in when they are sick. But other than that, you decide when to take your baby in when they have a cold/are sick, so it's really up to you about antibiotics. Most doctors usually don't suggest bringing the baby in unless they are really sick because there isn't much you can do for a little infant but ride it out. Good luck!
