Pediatrician recommendation ( please read)
I am torn if i should switch peds. I feel the doctors are great where I go however always have to wait at least an hour or more when I go there. The office waiting room is also dirty lately. I do not like the fact that I have to watch Sara like a hawk that she is not putting food from other kids in her mouth. YEs, the other mothers should clean up after their children. what would you do if you really like your docs but are unhappy with the wait and the waiting room?
I am also taking recommedations in the East Meadow area

I think you shoudl mention this to the doc, let him know about your unhappiness, if you are unhappy chnaces are other moms are unhappy too Cleanliness is important expecially when you bring your sick child into the environment, good luck

I'm sorry you feel that way. Honestly I've never had an issue with food on the floor there, and we've been there A LOT the past month.
As for the wait, I think it's pretty normal this time of year. If my kid isn't sick I don't mind waiting, since I know that when my kid is sick and needs to be seen quickly we will be.
They do have a very large practice, so when kids start getting sick there are a lot of them coming in to see the doctors.
ETA: DH just reminded me about when we had to call with an emergency on the morning of 12/26, they had us come in right away, we waited less than 10 minutes and the doctor had to spend about 45 mintues with us. I know that we pushed regular appointments back but it was a pretty serious situation and I appreciated that they didn't rush through it.

I agree. If I really liked my doctor, I would hate to see him lose patients over something that can be fixed (talking cleanliness, not the wait)

I hear you on the hour long wait - I would not want that and it would definitely be a deciding factor for me to change peds. Sounds like a really busy practice, and maybe you might do better at a smaller practice. My practice is a group practice too, but I am able to schedule their appointments for the first one of the day so I never really wait at all.
