Pediatrician Rec's in Amityville/Massapequa area
I need to start looking for pediatricians. Do any of you know of a good one in the Amityville/Massapequa area? I really want to find one with a sick and a well waiting room and one that is will to delay or split the vaccinations. Any input would be great! TIA!

You might get a better response to this if you post on the parenting board - especially since a lot of the moms on there have been using their peds for a while

We live in Amity Harbor and are planning to go with Pediatric Immediate Care on Sunrise Highway in Lindenhurst.
Here's their site:

My friend recommended them. They have a sick/well area and a big selling point for me were the hours they are open both during the week (9-11) and on the wknds (9-4).
They also are affiliated with all the good hospitals in the area including where I am giving birth (LIJ).
They said they can treat a lot of things parents would normally go to the ER for because their office is a new state-of-the-art facility. They do the lab work there too.
Also a bunch of random parents in the waiting area highly recommended them to us as well.
You can also choose your own ped but there is always someone available, and they have access to patient records online anywhere in the world.

Would you have one set doctor, or do doctors come and go from there, like Doctor's Immediate Care in Farmingdale?

I asked that question at the interview and they said you can request one set doctor to see all the time.
The head doctor, who I interviewed with, also told me though that on occasions, you may be seen by one of the others but they try their best to accommodate.

If you are willing to go a little farther west, Seaford Pediatrics is really good.

They are right on the corner of Merrick Rd. and Jackson Avenue. If I didn't live out east, I would still be going there!!

I use Seaford Pediatrics and could not be happier with them! Dr Meckes and crew are fabulous!
