People with pets vent!!!!!

I LOVE pets!!!! I wish I could have a dog! But I am deathly allergic to dogs and cats. What is up with the people that bring their dogs everywhere they go? In the past few months I have dealt with numerous people carrying their dogs around in the supermarket, walmart, and the mall. They are handling the dog, then touching food or items for sale. Some even put their dogs in the child carrier of the cart.

Aren't people thinking?!?!?!?! If I touch the cart after their dog is in there, and unknowingly touch my face, I could have a major asthma attack. I was even at the hairdresser and someone came in holding their dog as I sat in the waiting room. She stood right over me and started vigorously petting the dog. Dander and hair went all over me.

I blame Paris Hilton for starting the trend of taking your dog everywhere! Vent over!

I totally agree with you! I love dogs too, but I think it is out of control how people are bringing them everywhere with them.

I have a 4 lb Yorkie. I have a dog carrier for her and on occasion I will take her with me for quick errands. But under no circumstance would I ever bring her to a place that sells food. I dont even think dogs are allowed into a supermarket unless its a guide dog. I would definitiely complain. That is not appropriate!!!

I have a 90 lb lab and you don't see me carting him through the supermarket with me!!! Although I could probably RIDE him!!!!

It's very ignorant and disgusting to bring your dog to a place where they aren't allowed (food, supermarket, businesses).

I was in the food court at the Source and this family had their dog ON TOP OF A TABLE!!!!!!!! I was utterly speechless!

I agree, i was in Kmart a few weeks ago and someone had their dog in teh shopping cart like it was a kid. Totally unnecessary.

It is fine when they are guide dogs or assistance dogs. People who have them receive training in keeping the dogs clean and must adhere to rules about bathing them. I know that does not stop allergies but I'm comparing it to the people who carry their pets around when the pets are filthy. I have seen a lot of that lately. I don't like to take my dog into a lot of stores because he somehow comes out smelling worse than if he rolled around outside!!!! No wonder the dogs that go everywhere are often a mess!!! There are a lot of places I can take him to socialize him without infringing on people who are trying to run their errands!!! I have stopped in to places with him, but I do not plan a day of errands with my dog!!!!

The only stores I have ever taken my dog were Petsmart and Petco. And to a street fair, but that was outdoors.
She is a bigger dog, but I still dont like seeing dogs in food establishments.

i have a dog but wouldnt dare to bring it to the store and touch things like food and whatnot thats just wrong. My dog is small and i would never think of doing that.. sorry you are having bad experiences..
