personal question but asking // added anothe question
has anyone had the "essure" done? it's a procedure that you can have in the drs office or hosp. If so can you please share your experience.
thanks
7/16
I origianlly wanted to get my tubes tied hoowever my dr recommended this because there is no recovery time which would be best for me being I have little ones. Only one of the drs in my office do it he's actually the dr that teaches the other drs from other offices and hospitals. But this was the first I heard of it and it does sound good but like other posters have said it has only been around 5yrs so it is something to consider. I have a consult in a few wks so I guess I will decide then on which way I'm gonna go.
Here's another question has anyone had their tubes tied? How was the recovery?

Creepy, but interesting. Maybe I'm creeped out right now because I'm pregnant and we're going to try for two more after this... I can't imagine doing something irreversible like this, ever. And, the fact that it has only been done successfully for five years doesn't sit well with me.
To each her own though!

hmmm I just read the link, sounds interesting. Id be intersted to see if anyione has any feedback.
I agree with above though, the fact that its only been successful for 5 years doesnt make me feel that great about it.

Re: personal question but asking // added anothe question
I had this done in January of 2008...
I was in and out of the doctors office in an hour and a half...
No recovery time except for maybe being a touch groggy from being knocked out...
You go back after a few months to check to make sure your tubes are blocked...
My one word of advice has NOTHING to do with the procedure...When I had the procedure done I was told by my doctors office that it was covered by my insurance. Which it was...had no issue just the usual copay...HOWEVER...I didnt realize that the anesthesiologist was a separate bill and would be billed separetly. The one my doctors office used was OUT OF NETWORK. Admittedly I probably overlooked something on the day of the procedure but I wasnt aware of this until after the procedure was done...we're talking MONTHS later...
Ive had no medical issues though regarding the procedure...
