Personal question for those who have been on pelvic rest for an extended time..(more than 3 weeks)

Do you "take care of" DH? If so- how often?

I actually don't because I was told by the Dr. that I can't get "excited" at all...and much to DH's dismay, I do get turned on by taking care of him.
So, all sexual contact has ceased between us...it's very depressing....

With each pg - DH and I could not have sex because I had polyps which could have broken from intercourse and caused an infection.

With my first pg, I was on bed rest for a few months and thankfully we were allowed and encouraged to still show our affection for each other (with limits). In the hospital, DH was often found lying in bed next to me just to cuddle and occasionally we would lock the door for privacy Chat Icon . It wasn't more of "how often" - it was like normal - when the mood hit.

REALLY?!?!?!?!?!? i wonder if that's why they put me on pelvic rest...they THINK i have a polyp (or it could be a few other things)..but she didn't explain the pelvic rest that way...she just said to go on it.

thank you for this post - as i was put on this last week, i was curious as to what others did....

yeah, i think it depends on why you're on pelvic rest.

i was on it (and bed rest) last pregnancy with contractions. since getting turned on in any way can make you contract, even taking care of him was not really possible... it was terrible Chat Icon

I had polyps as well, I was on pelvic rest from 20 weeks on.

I know I did take care of DH, but I can't remember how often, but IMO, too much probablyChat Icon
