personal trainers - Male vs Female?
Do you have a preference?
Some friends say men are tougher trainers so they will get you into shape faster. Others say that only a woman trainer will know how to help shape another woman's body.
I've had 2 male trainers in the past & loved one, didn't care for the other. Neither of them took it easy on me.

Re: personal trainers - Male vs Female?
I've worked with female amd male trainers and had great results with both.
The male trainer works me HARD but I asked him to - I don't think I worked as hard with my female trainer because it was the first time I signed up for sessions and I kind of went with the flow. I'm more demanding of my current one but it has nothing to do with gender - I just have a better idea of what I want to work on.

i've worked with both. they were both professional body builders. i had equal results with both.
i think it's more of a personality issue

I've had both and I really think it's more of how you work with them and their personality....My current trainer is a female and she pushes be beyond where I ever thought I could go and I love it but thats her personality.

Re: personal trainers - Male vs Female?
i have a female trainer and i feel more comfortable with her than a man. i just feel that she knows the female body better and knows what i'm going through.

Re: personal trainers - Male vs Female?
I have a male trainer and let me tell you he knows more about the female body than I do. I worked out with him when I was pregnant and it really was helpful because he explained everything that was happening to my body to me every week, down to which vertabrae(sp?) were impacted when pregnant and how to protect my back. We had some VERY PERSONAL conversations and honestly he has helped me get back into shape PP. I do think it depends on the trainer though. Some trainers suck, you just need to find one that really lives, eats and breathes the human body.

Re: personal trainers - Male vs Female?
I've had both and honestly I have no preference. Its definitely a personality thing and really how into it they are and how knowledgeable they are.
My current trainer is a man - he is incredible. He always keeps it interesting, always switches it up and even goes over my diet and makes sure I'm doing the right things.
I'm currently going back to him right now and I'm having a difficult time taking the weight off (second round needs to come off). He has taken a different approach and is doing everything he can to help me. His workouts are insane - I'm dying after 30 minutes but in a good way. He's very conscious of my bad back and knees and if something hurts he never pushes.
My previous trainer was a woman and she was just as kick arse as he is. So I've been lucky but def. had a few horrid ones and they were all women - go figure
